Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data is collected across all ia-tree.com products, how it is used, and your rights over it. We operate three distinct products with very different data profiles — read the section that applies to you.
i.a.T. Viewer iOS & Android
i.a.T. Viewer collects no personal data whatsoever. The app operates entirely on your device. It does not connect to any server, does not require an account, and does not transmit any information over the internet.

Files in .iat format are opened and read on your device only. If you download a file from ia-tree.com, that download is governed by Section B below, not this section.

B1 — Who we are
ia-tree.com is operated by Interactive Argument Tree PLT (Registration No. 202604001548), a limited liability partnership registered in Malaysia. User data is stored in Supabase (infrastructure region: Asia Pacific — Singapore, ap-southeast-1). For questions or data requests, contact support@ia-tree.com.
B2 — User types and data collected
Different users have different data relationships with the platform:
Anonymous visitor
- IP address logged by Supabase and Cloudflare Workers infrastructure on each request
- View count incremented when a tree is opened (aggregate only — not linked to your identity)
- If you download a
.iatfile, your IP is captured in Supabase storage logs - If you arrive via an affiliate link (
?ref=CODE), a referral is recorded for commission purposes — see B4 on cookies
Signed-in user
- Email address and hashed password stored in Supabase
- Comments you post (General and Node comments) stored and publicly visible
- Comment history linked to your account
- All anonymous visitor data above also applies
Panelist
- All signed-in user data above
- Contributions added to trees stored and attributed to your account
- Contributions cannot be removed by you after submission but remain attributed to your account
Publisher
- All signed-in user data above
- Uploaded
.iatfiles stored in Supabase Storage - Tree submission history retained
- You retain full copyright over your trees — see our Terms of Service

B4 — Cookies
We use two categories of cookies:

The iat_affiliate cookie is set only when you arrive via an affiliate referral link containing a ?ref=parameter. It is read at checkout to attribute your purchase to the referring affiliate. It contains only the affiliate's code — no personal data about you. For full details see our Cookie Policy.

B7 — Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account; data is anonymised immediately
- Portability — request your uploaded trees in their original
.iatformat - Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
Submit requests to support@ia-tree.com. We will respond within 30 days.
B8 — Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on ia-tree.com. Educational institutions may create institutional accounts for classroom use under teacher supervision, in which case the institution is responsible for obtaining any parental consents required by applicable law.
B9 — Content ownership and liability
You retain full copyright over all content you submit to ia-tree.com. By submitting content, you grant ia-tree.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute your content on the platform. ia-tree.com is a platform, not a publisher. Admin approval of submitted trees is a moderation process to check compliance with our Community Guidelines and does not constitute endorsement of the views, arguments, or positions expressed therein.
i.a.T.Creator Desktop
C1 — The app itself
i.a.T.Creator is a standalone desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Once installed, it operates entirely offline and collects no personal data. It does not require an internet connection to use and does not communicate with any server during normal operation.
C2 — Purchase
i.a.T.Creator is purchased at USD 33.30 via ia-tree.com. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, who acts as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes all payment data directly — Interactive Argument Tree PLT does not receive or store your card details. Paddle's privacy policy governs payment data processing.
Your purchase email is retained by Paddle for transaction records. If you purchased via an affiliate link, the affiliate receives a commission as described in our Affiliate Terms. Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy.
C3 — License recovery
If you need to recover your license, visit ia-tree.com/recover-license. Your email address is used solely to locate your purchase record and is not used for marketing.
